Orthodox Ashkenaz Israel Text Aramaic, Hebrew
The
Orthodox Ashkenaz Israel text is used if the groom is of an Ashkenazi
ancestry. It is written in Aramaic (the ancient language of the Talmud,
using Hebrew characters), and serves as a legal document that ensures
that the bride will be taken care of financially by the groom, during
the marriage and upon death or divorce.
Many couples choose to pair this traditional text with an English text,
in a more egalitarian language which represents their mutual love and
commitments.
Orthodox officiants will require the use of one of the Orthodox texts.
Please consult your rabbi in order to determine which ketubah text is
right for you.
*Signature lines may be modified at time of order for no additional
charge.
